In 1791, Bautte and Mouline founded a factory in Geneva to manufacture watches. Half a Century later, in 1856, watchmaker Constant Girard married Marie Perregaux and the unified firm of Girard-Perregaux began. Soon after its creation, the House gained notoriety with its first mass production of ultra-flat watches.
