Wednesday Hump Day Fun Fact # 34

Posted by Daubin Barshtak on October 30, 2013.

Did you know that the most expensive piece of jewelry designed specifically for a movie was a necklace worn by Nicole Kidman in the movie Moulin Rouge. The 134-carat diamond necklace composed of 1,308 diamonds cost roughly $1 million U.S.D. to manufacture! The designer, Stefano Cantur, actually fell so in love with his creation that he pulled it from auction hours before it was to be sold. The necklace now named Satine after Nicole’s character in Moulin Rouge, resides in Cantur’s personal collection.
