The company was founded in 1880 in Biel in Switzerland.  Today the philosophy of the company relates to their early days as artisans who paid phenomenal attention to detail.  DeLaneau watches challenge the design elements of the time and incorporate rare materials and eclectic design combinations.  Gem setters working with them use ancient techniques of gem setting like serti close, serti millesgrains, serti grife, serti pave and serti miniature to get the highest possible light structure. They hand grind enamel, brush and fire in 20 layers to obtain a rare aesthetic.

The DeLaneau watch collections are exclusive.  They are only produced in small numbers with some collections only involving one model.  The custom work on each watch is a contributing factor to the small quantities produced.
