Wednesday Hump Day Fun Fact # 31

Posted by Daubin Barshtak on October 02, 2013.

It’s a rare occasion when you hear of a ring that is composed of silver, sells in auction for over $65,000 USD. It’s an even more rare occasion when you find out that the ring was originally created for Adolf Hitler. The originally gold plated ring bears a huge ruby-encrusted Swastika on its base. Although the ring was manufactured for Adolf Hitler, there is no photographic evidence of him ever wearing it. However, the ring did come with documents and testimonials authenticating that it did in fact belong to Hitler. The auction house in Maryland had originally anticipated over $110,000 for the sale of this ring, but was happy with the result as it is so hard to value historical items.
