The first wristwatch with an alarm function was produced by luxury Swiss watchmaker Eterna in 1908, but it did not enter into production until 1914. Eterna produced several other innovations during the 1930s, such as the smallest production wristwatch with a ‘Baguette’ movement (an elongated rectangular movement, the length of which is at least three times as great as the width), and an eight-day alarm watch. (Ulysse Nardin Sonata Cathedral, Model # 670-88 shown).
